Other Books

At this point in time, I have written four books outside the Life Web Series.

From Ice to Ashes

Revenge is a powerful force, often driving people down paths they can never retrace.
Glace, a determined young woman, is on one such path.  Rendered an orphan at an early age by a rising warlord, Glace spends the rest of her life bent on revenge.  The years scar and harden her, making her dangerous and coldly driven - regardless of the cost.  The warlord responsible for her family’s death, however, remains unpunished, and Glace seeks help.  She finds this help in the form of an acquaintance with magical powers, Ianira.  This woman is dangerous in her own right, but helps the frustrated, hardened girl - she offers to make her a weapon.
     A living weapon.
Apparently, by capturing a phoenix and transforming it by magic, one can make an unquestioning, shape-shifting ,deadly creature - one that will be Glace’s best bet at killing her foe.  But there is more to this living-weapon than Glace knows, and everything she’s ever thought about her life - about revenge and the risks she’s willing to take to get it, and about the number of people that her choies will effect - is about to be turned on its head.

Sea Otter
Humans are creatures of the land, not the sea.
However, for some, there is little choice.

This is the case for one particular, belligerent young boy, captured and put to work aboard an Aquarion ship.  Named ‘Otter’ by his captors, he joins a group of aquatic hunters as they comb the sea for the elusive Firefishes.  Without a second thought, Otter makes sure he lets his captors know just what he thinks of them, showing that this ‘otter’ has teeth and isn’t afraid to use them!  Despite all rules and threats to the contrary, he speaks his mind in words and in actions and with a general disregard to the consequences.
With few humans for company, he must battle not only the elements and the strains of his unforgiving job as steersman but also his own impulsive nature, which gets him into deep trouble more often than not.
With his sharp tongue and unstoppable stubbornness, Otter will face down anything the Aquarions and the mighty sea have to throw at him.

The Prince and the Sorceress
Salia is a court magician.  Was a court magician.  Now that her kingdom has fallen to the Stronghams, nothing is certain.  She may know magic and she may be able to fake calmness that would put a frozen lake to shame, but she’s still only a small player when put face to face with a whole new kingdom.
The brightness of her future will depend completely upon her wits, her knowledge of court life, and the mercy of King Strongham - or so she things, until that  ‘mercy’ turns out to be anything but.  Salia and a group of young maidens are to be ‘gifts’ for the king’s many sons - whose avarice and immorality are instantly visible.  None of the girls have a choice in the matter, and are soon divvied out t o their horrible fates.
Salia finds herself in the hands of a handsome young man who is at once more and less than what she bargained for.  The eldest of the prices, he doesn’t play the game the same way they do, or in any what that Salia expected.  Soon she is playing a risky game of watchfulness and control, cat and mouse, where on slip might lose everything for her.  She’s a mouse in a cat’s paws, and can only do her best her keep herself from harm.
With a prince waiting in the wings, however, that will not be easy.

Misfortune Favors the Meek
Fortune favors the bold, but precious few of us are bold...
From the courts of royalty to the brutal winter woods to a humble home, a nameless child strives to survive.  Although little more than a babe, he’s seen his share of fear and brutality, and he seems the most pathetic creature and least brave to be found.  Without a home or a family, he has nothing to protect him and soften life’s blows.
There is bravery in silence, however, just as there is bravery to be found in the meek and small.  A nameless child will face a world that’s full of hardships, and prove that sometimes the strength and determination of a youngster can be worth more than any boldness seen in the world.
I hope that you find as much solace as you find heartbreak in this book, just as the most meek may hide the qualities of the most courageous.
