At long last! A new book is in the publishing process: soon, 'Days of the Weak' (sequel to 'Wounds all Heals') will be published - hopefully by Christmas! If nothing else, it is all written, and just needs to be edited and run through Lulu.com. Fingers crossed that it will be out soon, and well-received!

Quick Change
Hey, for anyone looking for my books, don't use the yahoo email that I've got posted - so long as this post here is up, go ahead and email orders to this email: glaux101@hotmail.com. This new email is checked for often, whereas the yahoo one is sometimes (regrettably) ignored. If you already tried the other email, and haven't gotten a response, then you've fallen prey to this fact - please send another email to the hotmail address!
Also - I now have a facebook page! Either look up 'Maia Carlson Books' on facebook, or try this link. From there, you can catch me even more easily, as well as see most all of my illustrations and updates. Since college has gotten hectic, there will be few updates, though.

College - round two!
Yikes...I haven't been on in forever! Sorry that my blogs are so few and far between. With college heading now into its second semester, I'm moving rather slowly so far as publishing goes. I've still got some books that are moving forward steadily, but the most monumental change is that the last two books of my series are now edited and ready to be ordered and read! Unfortunately, I still haven't gotten around to fully illustrating them. Oh well - good things come in time!

Humanity vs Leadership Concepts
So, I'm in college, right? And I'm taking two particular classes, Leadership Studies and Intro into the Humanities. Both involved a lot of thinking and soul-searching to truly understand what concepts mean, and what they mean to me. However, thinking about these two things at the same time...that's when it gets interesting. In Leadership class, we studies the concepts behind leadership, which often include justice and kindness and an willingness to help others. In the Humanities, we instead QUESTION all of these things: what is justice? Is is truly better than injustice? Does honor exist? Why does humanity help each other instead of just everyone for themselves?
Basically, I'm arguing both sides of each topic in my head ALL THE TIME. I have to remember what class I'm in: 'Ok, I'm in Leadership Studies...that means that I assume that justice is real...and it's good...OK, got it.' Or: 'I'm now in my Humanities class, and we're arguing whether justice is real or not, or just something that people say but don't really follow.'
Literally, that's what my day is like! My brain has never been so stretched, but it's fun - I feel like I can see the world twice now, and finally turn my head to see everything around me (*reference to Plato's 'Republic' which I'm reading now)!
